Numerology and books is a controversial topic, some say to have current information you need to have the latest report. However if you are trying to understand how it works and how you can generate your own reports then books are the perfect place to start. When choosing a book ensure the following:
The book must contain how the numbers are calculated as there are different methodologies for this.
The book must explain how the meanings are derived so you can understand why, without having to just trust what the author has written.
The book must be current, that is an edition written or revised in the last five years.
